2-167 Pall Mall | St. James

This flat is in the heart of St. James’s, directly across the street from every major private club in London, with St. James’s Park just through the block. Marlborough House, Buckingham Palace, Clarence House, Her Majesty’s Theatre, Trafalgar Square, Waterloo Place, and Carlton Terrace are within 2-3 minutes from this accommodation. Piccadilly Circus is just up the street. This is an ideal location. The property itself is in an 1837 stone building, completed in the year Queen Victoria came to the throne. It is in wonderful condition and is smart and filled with atmosphere everywhere.

The flat is on the 4th floor with a small PRIVATE LIFT to the property. There is a mirrored entrance hall with polished wood floors. The LIVING ROOM is large with a beautiful window, comfortable seating, decorative fireplace, and a DINING room table. The KITCHEN is built in to the north end of the room. The kitchen has a washer/dryer, convection oven/microwave, electric hob, and refrigerator. The kitchen area is absolutely new and has just been redone to a good standard. The MASTER BEDROOM has a UK Super King size bed and is very quiet because the room has double glazing. It is a lovely, large bed. The SECOND BEDROOM has two single beds. The BATHROOM has a shower over the tub, wash hand basin, and loo. This property is ideal for clients wanting to be in the heart of it all. It is so convenient. You can walk to the National Gallery in five minutes. The standard of the property is excellent, but the location is simply amazing. High speed wireless internet is included along with Cable/satellite TV.  Property is designated non-smoking.

The flat on Pall Mall was great! It was spacious and comfortable with all the modern conveniences but also quite charming with large windows and English decor! We very much enjoyed being able to take a little time out from our activities in a homey atmosphere when needed. The location was very central. Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery was short stroll in one direction and Piccadilly Circus with its shopping, including the venerable Fortnum & Mason, was a short stroll in the other direction. St. James Park was just around the corner. Walking distance to the theatre district too. Lots of restaurants within a few blocks. Our favorite little place, coming back from a long day of activities was the little cafe, Wright’s, that was in the building next door. Excellent sandwiches, pasta dishes, salads, pastries, etc. You could get a meal including dessert for less than 10 pounds…a bargain! They also served a full English breakfast for under 10 pounds. We are sold on the flat vs hotel!

We had a fabulous time in London. The Pall Mall location was PERFECT — just a few minutes walk to Buckingham Palace, St. James Park (a gem!), Westminster Abbey, the grocery store, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, etc! We were SHOCKED at how close the flat was to all of these places! GREAT! We even walked to Hyde Park, Covent Garden, Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Big Ben, the London Eye, and several other areas. We were extremely lucky that weather was gorgeous, except the first day that was 94 degrees and one other day when it rained most of the day.

While we were staying at the flat the RIDE LONDON (Biking Event) was going on. So fun to to watch bikers all weekend long. At one point they were even riding down Pall Mall. Fun to watch from the flat!

The flat had everything we needed and was very spacious for two adults and two children. But again, the location was AMAZING! Thankful that we thought to rent the AC unit and that there were fans supplied in the unit — this was critical to make our stay more comfortable. Christina was very thorough in explaining everything about the unit when we first arrived and made it very clear that we could contact her if we had any questions or needed help during our stay. We were thankful to have someone to contact just in case.

Should we visit London again, the Pall Mall property will be our first choice for accommodations! We just loved it!

We had an awesome time. The Pall Mall flat was really nice and clean. You couldn’t ask for a flat in a better location. It’s and easy walk to the Mall and Buckingham Palace, a grocery was a block away, Trafalgar Was an easy walk, bus stops and subway stations were very close, not to mention the Soho district with plenty of alfresco dinning.

We had a terrific time in London and very much enjoyed staying at the Pall Mall flat. The location was perfect. I would very much like to stay there again if we are able to return to London for another family trip. Thank you for your hospitality!

    5. Melanie

You were recommended through a friend of mine. I was very pleased by the service offered. The house was clean and what we expected, I have no complaints. I would recommend you to anyone traveling to London.

    6. Faith

We visited London the end of January and were so surprised at how pleasant the weather was, to see flowers growing in the winter was a fantastic treat!
Our flat on Pall Mall was perfectly located for us to walk everywhere. The flat itself was clean, very nice and had all the amenities needed for a good stay.
Our driver and greeter couldn’t have been nicer, I would most definitely use London Connection again.

    7. Chris

The trip was great and the flat was perfect for us. The location, size, and amenities were exactly what we needed to be comfortable. The washing machine was really helpful for a mid-week cleaning. Understandably the windows aren’t that sound and air tight, but that wasn’t a big deal to us at all. I cannot think of a better location for our purposes this trip than Pall Mall. The check in and check out procedures and the driver were second to none…everyone was so helpful and courteous. Ricardo checked in with us once via email, which was nice but not intrusive. David, the driver, was fun to talk to both leaving and returning to the airport.
We will definitely be looking at your properties when we return to London in the not-too-distant future!

We had a wonderful stay in London and loved the flat. Cristina was super helpful and professional.

We found the flat very comfortable and conveniently located. It was fantastic having Tesco close by, St James Park and a Pret or Caffe Nero on almost every corner. We loved our pub meals at The Crown in Soho and The Wellington on The Strand. We and our kids aged 10 and 8 enjoyed visiting the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace, The Mews, the London Eye, seeing Much Ado About Nothing at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, riding the hop on hop off bus and river cruise, and playgrounds at Kensington Gardens, St James Park and Jubilee Gardens. I also loved the National Gallery and Tate Britain. Harry Potter Studios, Windsor and Bath were easy to get to on the train.

I’ll probably Instagram some pics eventually!

Thank you so much for providing such spacious and well-cared for accommodation, as well such excellent service.

We hope to stay with you again in a couple of years’ time.

    9. Janet

Regarding our recent visit to London, we found that the Pall Mall flat was ideally located on an interesting fairly quiet street, centrally located to what we wanted to be near. It was wonderful to be able to easily walk to so many major attractions or to quickly take the Tube

Overall, the flat is very comfortable, light, and airy. It does have its quirks with a minimal kitchen (with reversed taps in the sink!) and a basic bath with a tub/shower. What was most important was that it met our needs and was a comfortable haven at the end of a busy day out.

Our days were full: Theater, concerts, revisiting old haunts and discovering wonderful new places, such as the Wellcome Collection, Leighton House, the new Design Museum and especially accessing the Royal Society on London Open House weekend.

We came back from London, last Sunday Evening. We just want to say thank you. The apartment at Pall Mall was absolutely great. Everything worked perfect. Also the appointment with Christina was very nice.
We sure will come to London again sometime. And then we will appreciate booking an apartment with London Connection.
      Thank you and kind regards

    11. Laura

We had a blast in London and the Pall Mall flat was awesome. We picked it for its location as we had planned to do NYE on the Thames (on a boat) and figured it would be most convenient for walking to/from that night. It turned out it was convenient for everything we wanted to do this particular trip (Parliament Tour, Hop On/Off, Kinky Boots etc). The two bedrooms were perfect for my husband and me and our two daughters (18 & 21) who do not like sharing a bed. LOL. Anyway, we had such a great time in that flat….actually seemed like we had the whole building to ourselves. The price for the flat was outstanding and I will happily refer friends/family to London Connection in the future. LOVED Ricardo!! He was absolutely delightful…very helpful, friendly, professional…You got a winner there! And David drove us back to the airport…loved him as well. The entire experience was an A+! I can’t remember how I found London Connection but it will always be in my back pocket for future trips. We LOVE London (been several times), so we will definitely be back in the not-too-distant future.

    12. Julia

We loved the flat. It was so spacious and clean! The location was perfect. A 5 minute walk to Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly! So many shops conveniently located within walking distance, particularly the grocery store!
Ricardo was just wonderful; so warm and gracious!
      We will definitely be returning!

    13. Bruce

The trip was very nice; the flat was great. The weather made our outdoor activities a little difficult, but London is hard to beat at any time. The people in your organization were very gracious and helpful. The location of the flat cannot be better. We will probably use your services again. Thanks.

    14. Liesel

We really loved the flat.. perfect location and nicely appointed. Close to groceries restaurants and major attractions.

    15. Eric

We had a great trip. The apartment was perfect. It was comfortable and the location was perfect. Cristina was fantastic; she helped us get settled and gave us a very thorough orientation. We would highly recommend the apartment to others visiting London, and would rent this flat again on a return visit!

    16. Marian

We had a wonderful time during our recent visit to London and, as we have before, loved the Pall Mall flat. We found it very comfortable, fully equipped, convenient to everything (on foot, by tube and by bus) and just perfect! My granddaughter refers to it as “our flat” and when we next come to London, hope that it will be available again.

We have had very good experiences with London Connection from the reservation to the limo driver David to Cristina letting us in and taking care of things while we were in London. We can heartily recommend the flat and your company – and have done so to our friends. Thanks for everything.

    17. Beverly

(Stayed at Pall Mall and Bramham Gardens) We loved both flats. They worked perfectly for us and your system was flawless. Everyone was really nice and super helpful. Both locations were great as far as being close to shops, restaurants and attractions. Pall Mall was amazing but we loved both. We will keep your company in mind whenever we go to Europe.

Thanks so much for helping make our vacation a wonderful experience.

    18. Tiana

We absolutely loved the flat and London. Our location and the flat was perfect. We walked to many places and took the tube to others. We visited so many historical places and learned so much history. We even saw the Queen twice. We would love to revisit London and stay in the Pall Mall flat again. It was a perfect vacation and everyone from the the London Connection were so friendly and informative. We wouldn’t have changed anything. Thanks so much for your hospitality.

    19. Joel and Katherine

As to the Pall Mall flat: We find it comfortable, attractive, spacious, and appreciate that it’s on a quiet street. We like the flat’s high ceilings and traditional architectural design and décor. Your local management staff (on this trip, Cristina and Alex) have been responsive and accommodating when called upon to assist.

The washer/dryer is a big plus, and the well-equipped galley kitchen is perfectly adequate for cooking breakfasts and simple meals. The Tesco supermarket two blocks up Lower Regent Street can supply whatever you need. If you don’t even want to bother fixing your own breakfast, the little lunch shop next door called “Spreads” is open early and has a nice hot-breakfast menu (but is closed on weekends). For luxury foods to consume in the flat, within a couple of blocks are the food hall at Fortnum & Mason; London’s greatest cheese shop, Paxton & Whitfield; and its finest wine merchant, Berry Bros. & Rudd.

Further as to the flat’s location: In addition to the nearby popular attractions mentioned on your website, a couple of blocks away is St. James’s Church Piccadilly, a 1684 Christopher Wren church with frequent free lunchtime classical music concerts (and a busy schedule of ticketed evening classical concerts). The church also hosts a small arts-and-crafts street market in its courtyard several days a week. There also is a multi-screen 1st-run cinema tucked away in one of the office buildings just up Lower Regent Street.

For somewhat more distant destinations in greater central London, your website mentions the short walk from the Pall Mall flat to the Piccadilly Circus Underground Station, but many visitors overlook the excellent public bus system. We find it far more convenient and pleasant than the Tube, far less crowded, and not necessarily slower door-to-door. Almost every bus route serving greater central London passes Piccadilly Circus and/or Trafalgar Square, each of which is only two blocks from the flat. Most destinations can be reached without having to change buses. (Caution: the bus network is extremely complex, with overlapping and diverging routes, and the different routes have different stopping points around Piccadilly and Trafalgar, so advance planning on the Transport for London website is essential.) If you must take the Tube, depending on which line you need, the Piccadilly Circus and Charing Cross Stations are equidistant from the Pall Mall flat, with Embankment Station only one block further.

My godmother and I had another really great trip to London; it’s our third stay with you in five years, and we always find the flats so conveniently located, safe yet easily accessed, and comfortable. We always find new things to do, new restaurants to try, and new neighborhoods to explore in and around London and other cities in the UK, but it’s nice coming “home” to the flat each night as well. We’ll be back, I’m sure.

    21. Fred

My wife and I had a great time in London this March. This is the third time we stayed in the Pall Mall flat. We liked the newer furniture in the living room and better TV. Found the Whole Foods market to be close by in addition to Marks and Spencer. Great location near National Gallery, Waterloo Station, and many theaters.

    22. Earl Sato

This is a very nice, quiet apartment conveniently located close to Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus and Buckingham Palace. This was our fourth time renting from London Connections and, as always, everything went smoothly – the booking process, the apartment let-in, and the car from and to the airport.

    23. Dr. Julianne Still Thrift

We stayed for five nights in this fabulous flat. Since we were traveling with our adult daughter, the size was perfect. The location allowed us to walk to everything we had planned, so London felt like a manageable city. The flat was bright, with vast expanses of windows. Although the elevator is small it was welcomed, and it allowed us to bring our suitcases up and down easily.
The driver who brought us from Heathrow was professional, informative, and most helpful. We were warmly greeted, and every question was answered.
We will stay here each time we visit London. The apartment is tops!

    24. Andrea

This flat could hardly have been better for our family of two adults and two children. Everything from my initial inquiry to our drop off at Heathrow by our driver was smooth and easy. The driver also picked us up and was very patient with our tired, hungry and unruly 8-yr-old. The flat was terrific – large, pretty and in a perfect location allowing us to walk everywhere we wanted to go. We had a terrific afternoon tea at Browns hotel nearby – truly elegant. Dinner at Brasserie Zedel a short walk away. A very casual cafeteria-style dinner in the crypt at St Martin in the Fields church at Trafalgar Sq. We were so happy with our choice and would hope to stay there next time we’re in London. I highly recommend this apartment and the whole London Connection team – very professional. A great alternative to staying in a hotel, for cost savings and space. Plus it’s so nice to go to the market and get some healthy cereals and fruit to have for breakfast instead of dining out 3 meals a day. Top notch!

    25. We occupied Pall Mall the third week of April, 2014. We arrived to Heathrow at about 9:00AM and were met by our driver for transport to the flat. We arried to the flat earlier than the scheduled check-in time, so we dropped off our bags and took the opportunity to grab a bite to eat at the sandwich shop just outside the flat. We then walked up towards Picadilly, about a block, to find the grocery store. The store was wonderful with a great selection of prepared foods, produce, salads, breads, and daily necessaties. The prices here were refreshing compared to the cost of eating in the neighborhood restaurants. After gathering a few day’s necessaties we headed back to the flat where we were again greeted by the let-in person who gave us a tour of the flat and explained the utilities, building secuity, gave recommendations on places to go, and explained the tube and the options available to purchase prepaid cards. We were traveling with two adults and two childres, ages 13 and 16. The kids quickly settled into their room which was furnished with two twin beds. The master had a queen size bed with more than ample storage. The living room had a flat-panel TV which had access to Netflix. The unit had wireless which worked well with our IPAD and Kindle. We ate breakfast and dinner in the flat most days. The oven worked well, though took a little getting use to as all temps were in Celsius. The flat itself could not be in a better location. Pall Mall itself is a beautiful street lined with brownstones decorated with beautiful wrought iron balconies and flower boxes. The flat is about a 5 minute walk to Buckingham Palace, is one block north of St. James park/ Trafalger Sq, is one block south of Piccadilly, and is a 10-15 minute walk to the Thames near the London Eye, Big Ben, House of Parlaiment. When in London, make time to explore some of the museums. Not only is admission free in all of the museums, but there is so much to see including the Magna Carta at the British Museum and many great paintings at the National Gallery which is just down the street from the flat. There are countless theaters showing both new and old shows. We purchased tickets to the Royal Opera house where we saw Shakespear’s “The Winter’s Tale” ballet. The show was spectacular. We also bought tickets at one of the half-price ticket booths in Picadilly to see Billy Elliot. This was very entertaining as well. Mid week we took the time to take the EuroStar from the train station over to Paris. This was an experience of a lifetime traveling under the see at incredible speeds. In Paris we booked a Golden Tour two-day (overnight) tour of the city which was perfect. The second day we were on our own where we booked an Aviator tour of Versailles and took the train to MontMartre and Sacre Coeur. The area behind the church is a must for those wanting to buy artwork or have a sketch done. The second night we caught the Eurostar back to London where we arrived back to Pall Mall on Thursday night. Friday we again booked a day tour with Golden Tours to see Windsor Castle, Bath, and Stonehenge. Definitely a must for anyone looking to fill a day in London. On Saturday we left the flat and cought the tube from Picadilly to Heathrow. Overall, we were very happy with the flat. Again, I do not think I could have found a better value or location. For a family of 4, this is a great way to travel.

    26. Senata

We enjoyed staying at your property at Pall Mall. The location couldn’t be better. We were able to walk to a lot of sights and it was great having a park so close by so that the kids could let off steam. There are a lot of take aways round the corner, which was quite handy when we didn’t feel like eating out in a restaurant – and I don’t cook when I’m on vacation. Our kids enjoyed having two separate beds while my husband and I enjoyed the king-size bed.
Christina, with whom we had our let-in appointment, was very nice and everything worked out just fine.
You may want to tell your clients who are travelling with children to check out the Rainforest Café (just north of Piccadilly). The food wasn’t great, but ok, but the decoration is fantastic. Our kids loved it. Another tip: children between the ages of 11-16 should have a kid’s travel card. You have to order that 4 weeks before your stay and send an photo. That way the kid travel free on most public transport. We were too late for that so we had to walk up to Piccadilly or Charing Cross to buy a travel card for our son every day we wanted to use the tube or the bus.
Book tickets for shows well in advance. They may be more expensive than the last minute ones but that way you can get good seats. There is no point in attending a show from a seat with poor visibility, as then even the cheapest ticket is too expensive.
An excellent book for families: “Family Guide London”, Eyewitness Travel.
I have been to London many times before this last trip, but never before with my kids. We spent a week there and even my son, who enjoys going on vacation but always loves going back home said, he wanted to stay longer. There are so many things to see and do that we will definitely go back soon.

    27. Rob

We had a wonderful time staying in your flat. It really felt like home,
and made our stay so much more pleasant than if we were staying in a
hotel. And last week, you did a fantastic job with the weather. Based
upon last week, I don’t know why everyone complains about the London
weather (smile)? I especially enjoyed running in the parks, being so
close to Piccadilly and Trafalgar and the Abbey area. Staying with you
made me feel like a Londoner for a few days. I guess that’s the best
      quote I can share.

    28. Patty

It was so easy having David meet us at the airport as we came through customs and then Christina was waiting for us at the flat. The place was very comfortable and had everything we needed. But, best of all – the location was perfect. We spent 5 days all over London and it was so easy from where we stayed. It was a quiet street during the evening which was also good. All in all, we could not have asked for a better place to stay. You made it very easy and enjoyable.

Now, our girls (14 and 11) can’t wait for the next European city to visit. I just can’t imagine that the next trip will be as smooth. If you would like our itinerary…here goes….

Arrive Tues – 2pm – London Eye, Parliment, Piccadilly Circus
Wed – British Museum, Boat Ride down Thames, Double Decker Bus Ride, Trafalgar Square
Thur – Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, Madame Tussauds (girls request), Shopping at Oxford Circus (Hamleys, Selfridges, Jack Wills, Liberty of London)
Fri – Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, Oxford bus trip – with Evans Evans – great trip!
Sat – Westminster Abbey, Victoria and Albert Museum, Harry Potter stops (Covent Garden – bookstore, candy shop, Kings Cross Station – platform 9-3/4), Shopping at Harrods
      Sun – Return home – 🙁

Also, for dinner we enjoyed – thai square – great, cote brasserie – great, planet hollywood, spaghetti house – OK, seafresh – good chip shop. Favorite pub was the White Swan near Covent Garden market.

      Thanks again,

    29. John

The whole experience was great!!! the driver was waiting on us as we passed through customs and Christina was waiting on us at the flat when we arrived. The flat itself was very nice and the location could not have been better. We also enjoyed the Pall Mall Wine store in the Pall Mall arcade just down the street.

I have already recommended you to some friends.

    30. Peter

Yes we had a great time at the apartment 2-167 Pall Mall. It was very convenient for us as we are members of a club in St James’s and also Pall Mall is very convenient location in central London. We found the apartment to be of a high standard and reasonably priced especially when travelling with young children.

    31. Gordon

My wife and I both thought the property was terrific
it was two to three times a better deal than a hotel room at the same price

      The location was superb.
Just three blocks from Piccadilly Square, the centrally located Piccadilly underground station
and the heart of the theater district

      The accommodations were almost luxurious.
      They were secure and spacious.
We felt as though we were in someone’s home

Your staff who picked us up and dropped us off at the airport were impeccable.

I have recommended this to a number friends.

I look forward to our next stay in one of your properties

    32. Tim

This is our 5 year renting a flat in London. I would rank this one of
the best we have rented in this price range, well located to west end.
walked to to everything from this location. Seemed very secure. Clean
      and dry.

    33. Tina

We rented the flat on Pall Mall for a week in March and could not have been happier. The location was excellent, just a moments walk to all the fun of Piccadilly Circus and a ten minute walk to Buckingham Palace. The tube and bus were only steps away.
The flat was clean and bright and very spacious and the agent that welcomed us could not have been nicer. There is even a t.v. in the main bedroom as well as the lounge area. The laundry facilities enabled us to pack lighter than we would have and allowed more room for shopping. We took advantage of the driver to collect us from the airport (at a small additional charge) and we were thrilled by his kindness and how helpful he was. We then continued to use this driver and one of the other drivers for three other journeys to the train station and the airport once again, and they were both reliable and extremely accommodating.
The flat is exactly as seen in the photos. We highly recommend this accommodation if you are traveling to London and don’t want to be stuck in a tiny hotel room.
      Many thanks,

    34. George

Thank you for caring. Everything went off just as we had hoped and my son
and I had a great time. The location could not have been better. From Pall
Mall you can take the tube anywhere in London and beyond.

The flat was quite clean and very comfortable, we would defiantly stay there
again. As a matter of fact, my son mentioned that he may like to lease the
flat when he travels to London with his wife (her sister lives in King’s
Cross) but he has no definite plans at this time.

As far as great finds go the two that stood out for me, not that they are
exactly_ finds_, were the Tower of London and Blenheim Palace. The Beefeater
guide at the Tower could do stand-up comedy anywhere he wanted, the guy was a
riot. All I can say of Blenheim Palace is that it is just plain spectacular.
Alas, there is a whole country to see and we had so little time. Plenty left
      for next trip.

    35. Melissa

We had a fabulous time staying in your flat in Pall Mall. What an amazing location! We walked everywhere, constantly, even to Harrods! Though the building and street immediately in front get very quiet in the evening and on the weekend, being literally just around the corner or just a few blocks away from the most popular spots in town is such a time safer and so exciting.

Our driver, John, was prompt on our arrival. During the ride to the flat, he filled us in on places to visit. If not for him, we would have missed the queen’s procession to open Parliment which took place the day after our arrival and was just a few blocks away from the flat. This was indeed an amazing experience, and it was fun to talk to the local policemen and be elbow to elbow with local folks who gladly narrated the events as they unfolded.

For our purposes, the apartment was perfect. Though the kitchen was just a nook, for our use it was sufficient. We kept our meals simple, and it was just convenient to be able to have tea and breakfast in the morning, and wine and cheese in the evening. The master bedroom is a great size–could almost hold two double beds. The second bedroom was a bit tight for two adults to use, but we managed. The flat was clean, comfortable, and charming. We never did get the heat to come on, so we were a bit chilly at night.

Our greeter was sweet and very comfortable answering our questions and giving advice. Because of her, we had a lovely breakfast and tea at Fortnum and Mason when my daughter was visiting from Rome. The floor manager and waitstaff were friendly and conversant with us. Just to prove our point of how easy it is to get around from the Pall Mall flat, when my daughter flew in from Rome and took the Tube into Piccadilly Circus, we missed each other at the Tube station. She simply checked on a map in the concourse and walked to the flat with no problems. Meanwhile a frantic mom was trying to watch every staircase from the underground!
We enjoyed lovely meals at several pubs, one being The Sherlock Holmes, another The Red Lion, and one across from Planet Hollywood (name escapes me at the moment) where we enjoyed fabulous sausage and mashed potatoes and a local brew on our first evening, and one on the corner by Chinatown (name for this one also escapes me) where we had our best large cup of cappucino, even better than in Italy!

We enjoyed taking a boat to London Tower and walking to the Globe Theatre. Adding river travel to our itinerary brought nice variety to our trip. Westminster Abbey is fascinating–don’t forget to get the audio guide and listen to Jeremy Irons lead you through this awesome structure. A train trip out to Windsor Castle and a taste of a local bitter in a pub in the town is a worthwhile excursion out of London. We also had no trouble picking up discount theater tickets at the kiosk at Piccadilly Circus. We flew all the way over to London to see “Jersey Boys”, irony not lost on us from Pennsylvania, a neighboring state to New Jersey!

I would say that our most difficult experience was finding a place to eat late on Saturday evening. A few of the pubs we stopped at near Pall Mall were not serving food, and other restaurants were jammed. We took the advice of our lovely greeter to try a steak place around Piccadilly Circus. It was mobbed, but we got in miraculously. We had fun shopping at the outdoor market near Fortnum and Mason, and had lovely desserts from the outdoor market under the bridge on the other side of the Thames near the Globe Theatre.

The flat provided a complete library of research books for London and all of England. And the binder was filled with helpful guides and recommendations. Though there was no food left specifically for us (our hosts in our Rome apartment did stock the kitchen with enought amenities to get us through a day or two and treated us to a bottle of wine), food that would not spoil was left from previous renters for us to use if we wanted to. The market was just a few blocks away, so it was no trouble to go shopping. And it was open 24 hours!

Pick up by John was prearranged at the front end of our trip, and John generously left me his card which I used to arrange a ride for my daughter at the end of her time in London. That driver was equally polite and concerned about her safety as she left the car to enter the airport.

I wish I had a reason to return to London regularly. Hopefully I will get the chance again, and when I do, I will certainly contact you, Thomas, to see what you have to offer. I wouldn’t do a trip there any other way!

Thank you so very much for making our trip so perfect.
