2-218 Shelton Street | Covent Garden

Entice your friends with this trendy warehouse conversion among London’s famous west end

A spectacular flat on a quiet street in Covent Garden is the perfect way to spend a holiday or a business trip in London. I love being in Covent Garden because it is in the middle of everything such as theaters, cinemas, restaurants, pubs, clubs, and shops. Open the flat door, and London in all its glory is right in front of you. It is an exciting area for those who love to walk and walk because there is simply so much to see and visit. All the theaters are within 5 minutes of this flat. St Paul’s is ten minutes away. The National Gallery and St Martin’s are nearby. Having a pizza on Covent Garden Square or watching the world go by in Trafalgar Square are moments you will always remember. The Thames or Parliament and even Buckingham Palace are no more than fifteen minutes from this flat if you walk. As you can tell, this is where I like to be. LOCATION, LOCATION–that is what this flat is all about.

THE LONDON CONNECTION is offering this two bedroom/two bathroom flat for our visitors. It is absolutely ideal. It is located on the third floor of a very beautiful building in a very quiet part of Covent Garden. The entrance area and common parts of the building are beautifully cared for; there is a LIFT as well as stairs to the accommodation. The open plan kitchen is lovely. The LIVING ROOM area is very comfortable with lots of light. The decorative balcony doors open to allow lots of light and fresh air. The living room has a clean contemporary feel about it with comfortable sofa that includes a foldaway bed, chairs, dining table and chairs. There is television, Internet, telephone. The KITCHEN area is very good quality with all machines: washer/dryer, dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer. Just walk in and start cooking–or at least make breakfast. It is nice. There are TWO very nice BEDROOMSthe Master with a  comfortable UK King size bed.  The second bedroom has a UK  Super King size bed (that can be separated into two singles) and ample storage. The MASTER BATHROOM is EN SUITE with shower stall, loo, wash hand basin. The SECOND BATHROOM has a shower over a tub, wash hand basin, and loo. The entire flat benefits from lovely wood floors and top quality appliances. The size of the flat is wonderful and there is a wonderful sense of space throughout. If you are in this standard, and if you want to be in the heart of the city on a quiet street, this is the flat for you. The London team says the flat is AWESOME. High speed wireless internet is included. Property is designated non-smoking.

We had a fabulous time in the Shelton St. flat. It was a lovely apartment and the location was incredible– three different tube stations within an eight minute walk (Covent Gardens-2 minutes, Leicester Square–5 minutes, and Charing Cross–8 minutes). Virtually every theatre we attended (and we did go to 15 shows in 13 days) was within ten minutes and it was less than twenty minutes to walk to Parliament and Westminster Abbey. And having the Marks & Spencer right around the corner was so convenient. Frankly, I can’t imagine a better location and a nicer accommodation. And the various people associated with the London Connection were outstanding. Cristina was great and amazingly efficient in her pre-arrival communications and then meeting us at the flat once we got to London. And Joe (and David) were punctual and terrific in picking us up at Heathrow and driving back out to the airport for our return flight home. It was as smooth and effortless vacation as we have ever had. We would most definitely recommend the flat to anyone going to London. As an aside, while the other reviewers were correct that the living room can get pretty noisy at night, it is dead quiet in the bedrooms and we slept like babies. So we would give the Shelton St. flat and London Connection, A++ or two thumbs up!

We so enjoyed our eight days at 2-218 Shelton Street. The flat was spacious, bright and well equipped. It’s located on a quiet section of Shelton Street and the bedrooms, situated on the back of the flat, were really quiet. The beds were comfortable, and there was ample comfortable seating for the four of us in the living room. We loved the open layout of the kitchen/living/dining room. It was helpful having two bathrooms and extra towels. The building itself was well-appointed and quiet, with the largest residential elevator we’ve come across in London – handy for luggage! We appreciated all the extra sets of keys.

The Seven Dials location was terrific – it was a short walk to many of the theatres we attended, and we were surrounded by restaurants and shops. Groceries were available at Marks & Spencer’s right around the corner and in the immediate area, we were very close to two of our favourite haunts – the Donmar Warehouse and Neal’s Yard Dairy. In 5 minutes we were down into Trafalgar Square for the National Portrait Gallery and the National Gallery or over into Covent Garden in one direction or Soho in another direction. In 15 minutes we were across either the Hungerford or Waterloo Bridges to the South Bank for the National Theatre, etc. A lovely 40 minute walk along the river got us to Borough Market and Southwark Cathedral, passing the Tate Modern en route. In fact, we walked everywhere and rarely felt the need to press our Oyster cards into service.

All in all, 2-218 Shelton Street was a delight – a super spot to return to in the evenings and an important part of our marvellous London holiday. We’ve rented a number of flats through London Connection, and Shelton Street is definitely our new favourite! Thanks very much.

We had a wonderful time in London and greatly enjoyed our stay at the Shelton Street flat. The flat had many nice features, but since my wife and I are both light sleepers, top of the list would clearly be the unbelievably quiet bedrooms. It was wonderful to be in the heart of a popular, bustling tourist area, Covent Garden, and yet to be assured of a quiet night’s sleep every night.

The flat’s facilities — kitchen, living room, bath/shower, laundry, TV, etc. — all met our needs just fine. Only quibble was that the kitchen utensils didn’t include a cheese knife and cheese slicer. Probably not a problem for most people, but I’m a cheese lover and one of our first stops was Neal’s Yard Dairy right in the neighborhood to stock up on cheeses for the stay. We eventually managed to find a store with the needed implements, so no harm done. Access to the trash room adjacent to the building proved difficult and frustrating, but was not a problem once we were advised that we needn’t worry and could just leave the trash bags outside.

Location was great. A quick walk, barely 5 minutes, to the Covent Garden tube stop. Easy walks to Marks and Spencer and to Tesco, which handled virtually all our grocery needs, and in the case of Marks and Spencer, offered reasonably priced carry-out dinners. Could even walk to Whole Foods, about 15 minutes further, for some more specialized grocery purchases. Plenty of nice shops and restaurants within walking distance, not to mention theaters and museums.

So all in all, we loved the flat and feel that it helped make our London trip a real success.

We loved the apartment. The check-in process was also very smooth. The wifi was spotty but you quickly suggested a workaround. I look forward to staying there again or in another one of your properties on my next visit to London. Five stars!!!!!!

We loved the apartment at Shelton Street and its location in Covent Garden.

We are frequent London visitors (and London Connection usersJ) and we try to avoid the typical ”tourist traps”, but this visit my mother was with us and she hadn’t been to London for many years. This is some of the things we did during our visit:
      · A visit to Shepherd Market with dinner at “Le Boudin Blanc”

      · A walk in Green Park

      · Afternoon tea at the old “Brown´s hotel”

      · A walk (this time also a boat trip) from Little Venice to Camden

      · A walk around Primrose and up to the best view point in London

      · A walk across the Millenium Bridge and a South Bank walk

We had a wonderful stay in London. The flat was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. The location was perfect – one block from the tube station, close to restaurants and a grocery store, theaters and museums.

We loved our stay in this flat!

We found it to be in a perfect location – around the corner from a M & S and the tube stop. The flat and location could not have been more convenient.

Also close to Covent Garden which is always buzzing. Easy walking distance to many attractions.

The flat was immaculately clean and everything we needed was there for us. There were 4 of us and we never felt crowded.

The rooms were very spacious with plenty of storage and lots of windows for fresh air. The front of the flat was fairly noisy at night but the bedrooms, located in the back, were completely quiet.

We really appreciated that the London Connection provided the option of a driver to and from LHW.

The person who greeted us, Ricardo, explained very clearly how to use all of the appliances although I suggest that simple written instructions would have been a good backup. He also recommended an Indian restaurant around the corner, Dishoom, which we loved for lunch. Best meal of the trip but there is a 2 hour long line at night which was not appealing to us. But It must be worth the wait for many!

Service from the staff at The London Connection was flawless – I cannot recommend them too highly. Our experience was perfect.

    9. David

My friend Vicki and I had a wonderful time in the flat. It’s a perfect location, very comfortable, and the bedrooms are quiet.
Everything on the LC end was great – pickup at Heathrow was prompt, the flat was ready on arrival about 10am, always a bonus. Everything in the flat worked as expected, though I’ll never get the hang of those one-unit washer/dryers. 🙂

    10. Amy

Thanks for everything! The flat was amazing. We had a great experience and will tell everyone we know about your company!

    11. Elliot

The trip was great, both the London and St. Andrews legs. The flat was in a great location and was an ideal home base for our family for the few days we were in town. We particularly appreciate how smooth your organization made everything run from the up-front communications and details to the logistics of getting picked up at LHR to delivery to the flat and the return trip. I couldn’t more highly recommend that others take advantage of what your organization does and hope to work with you all again when we next return to London.

Super nice, clean, spacious apartment in a great location! We had a wonderful 5 night stay. There’s whole lot going on in the surrounding blocks but the apartment is on a relatively calm street. We walked almost everywhere since the location is great. The bedrooms are very quiet and we got a nice breeze with the windows open. On our last full day we were treated to the Seven Dials Festival with lots of live music, street vendors and free Pimm’s!

    13. Chris

We absolutely loved everything about the apartment on Shelton St. The location is perfect with M&S food hall on the doorstep as well as Tesco a 5 minutes walk, close to all the theatres and fabulous restaurants and the interesting alleys around seven dials. The apartment is a the best we have stayed at in London. Perfect for the 3 of us. Lovely wood flooring throughout. Two comfy bedrooms and well appointed bathrooms. They are at the back so very quiet. The open plan kitchen and living room are very spacious with everything you would need to cook dinner if you want to stay in. Christina and Ricardo were extremely helpful. Taking the driver option from the airport is a must for a worry free arrival after the transatlantic flight. Our favourite restaurant was Barafina on Frith St.–fabulous tapas but get there early.

    14. Carla Gross

We stayed at this apartment during the spring and had a wonderful time there. The location could not be better, especially if you love the theater. Mathilda was playing in the theater right around the corner and we could see the performers applying make up from the window outside of the apartment. The company was great to work with – they had someone there to pick us up from the airport and another person to show us around the apartment. We were able to hire a driver from them to take us to Stonehenge and Oxford and they were very accommodating. I would highly recommend this company and this apartment as well. We will definitely use them for all future trips to London.

This is our second time using one of the London Connections apartments, and like the first, it was a great experience. The flat at 2-218 Mercer Street is spacious, modern, well maintained and we received it in clean and impeccable condition. Our two boys loved it, and the surrounding area. As in my previous visit, I had to spend considerable amounts of time and money being dragged around the neighboring comic book store(Forbidden Planet), Waterstones Piccadilly bookshop and various similar venues a few minutes walk from Shelton street.
It is a pleasure doing business with a well-run operation such as London Connections. They even arranged for a sunny and warm week for us in London. We shall return!

Just a note to thank you for allowing us to stay at your apartment on mercer street.
The stay was very pleasant , starting from the email correspondence, airport pickup and welcoming by Cristina.
The apartment is well equipped and more than enough towels. In fact we did not use 1/2 the towels during our stay.
I would highly recommend friends and family to check out your properties if staying in London.
      Thankyou and merry christmas.

    17. Having spent a lot of time in London over the years, I must say, our stay at 2-218 Mercer Street was truly great. From our arrival to our departure, everything went very smoothly. The flat is clean, spacious, airy and in THE BEST location! The neighborhood was everything I hoped for: close to two tube stops, walking distance to so many great sights and endless shopping, a great Marks and Spencer market around the corner with groceries and prepared meals to take away (great soups and salads), lots of restaurants (too many to choose from). Our favorites were Jamie’s Kitchen, Bill’s, and Brown’s, all within a 5-7 minute walk. The best night of all was the night we walked to St. Martin in the Fields Church to hear a lovely, candlelight concert.
Thanks to the staff at London Connection for making our stay so easy and enjoyable. We can’t wait to come again.

I have already told friends about our experience and believe one family has booked with you in November for a different apartment (in Piccadilly Circus, I think.)

We had a wonderful trip to London and the apartment in Covent Garden had a lot to do with it. It was so conveniently located, with two tube stations, grocery stores and restaurants nearby, and being close to Trafalgar Square, the West End and so many other spots was great for the walkers in the group. It was perfect for our party of 5 of mixed ages. My son’s favorite thing in London was the apartment itself. He loves all things modern! The apartment was spacious, comfortable and well-kept, and the recommended driver and apartment manager were very kind and accommodating with our airline misadventure. (Half our party arrived close to 8 hours late.)

We also enjoyed the “Muggle Tour ” of London, not just for Harry Potter fans!
Thank you from all of us.

I cannot say enough great things about our stay at 2-218 Mercer Street, and those who make London Connections run so smoothly! We had a wonderful vacation. The apartment was spotless and cozy, and the location was perfect. Coffee shops, pubs, restaurants, and shopping were all around us, yet the street was nice and quiet. The Covent Garden area was perfect for our family. Our favorite restaurant was Bill’s in St Martin’s Courtyard. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, and we could’ve eaten there repeatedly. We also apprecitated that a tube stop was a block away from the flat. It made London very accessible. And don’t let me forget to mention your staff! Those in the office, the driver, Ricardo at check-in, your cleaning staff, all were top notch! It was a magical time for our family and we will definitely book through London Connection when we return.

Thanks and kudos for a top-notch experience,
