4-16 St. Martin’s Lane | Covent Garden House

Experience Chippendale’s 18th century renovated workshop steps from Covent Garden theaters

THIS CENTRAL LONDON HOUSE IS PERFECT IN EVERY WAY: perfect location right in the heart of London, perfect history, perfect comfort, perfect amenities. We at LONDON CONNECTION are delighted to offer one of the finest 3/4 bedroom historical properties in central London. In the 18th century, this building on St Martin’s Lane was once the furniture workshop of Thomas Chippendale, the finest furniture craftsman in British history. It is located three minutes from ST MARTIN IN THE FIELDS, THE NATIONAL GALLERY, THE NATIONAL PORTRAIT GALLERY, TRAFALGAR SQUARE, LEICESTER SQUARE, and many Covent Garden theaters and restaurants.

The house itself has been completely refurbished to the highest standard. There are four floors which are beautifully designed and organized. The GROUND FLOOR is a marble entrance with staircases down to the basement and another staircase leading up to the residential floors. On the FIRST FLOOR, up one flight of stairs, is a BEDROOM for two persons and a fabulous shower bathroom. This floor has its own KITCHEN with all machines with an open plan LIVING ROOM/BEDROOM with a large PULL-OUT SOFA–much like a “granny flat.” Four persons can be comfortably accommodated on the first floor.

On the SECOND FLOOR, there are TWO BEDROOMS–one has a large QUEEN size bed (the MASTER BEDROOM) and other has a KING size bed which can be unzipped into two twin beds. There is an amazing BATHROOM with tub, wash hand basin, loo, and an additional shower room. Finest quality. Four persons can be accommodated on this floor.

On the TOP FLOOR, there is an open-plan KITCHEN/DINING ROOM/LOUNGE. The kitchen is beautifully organized and designed with all machines including washer/dryer, hob, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, etc.. The lounge has a large sofa which can be a pull-out for 1 or 2 additional people. One adult or two children can be accommodated on this floor. There is a large television in the lounge and a second television in the master bedroom and a third TV in the first floor bedroom. There is High Speed Wireless Internet in the accommodation.

This splendid accommodation is in an historic building, located in the perfect spot in London. It is perfect for a family or a small group staying in central London. It is best for visitors who wish to be in the heart of the city, going to the theater, walking to all the historic sites, searching for the best restaurants, living in the ideal residence. This is a unique experience, living with history in a stunning setting which can accommodate up to 8 persons. If you are in this budget, this property would add a great deal to a visit to London.

Outstanding property in a perfect location if you like theater and activity.
We had a family reunion of the eldest (83 and 86) from NH, daughter and a husband from Manila, and younger daughter, husband and 2 grandchildren ages 6 and 10 from Colorado. There was plenty of space and 2 kitchens (one for the gluten free vegetarians!). Even in the hottest of days in many years the flat was comfortable with fans. Lots of good restaurants in the neighborhood and a nearby Tesco for groceries.

We walked easily to Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden, British Museum and across the bridge to the Eye.

Cristine, the manager, was very helpful. We have stayed in other rental properties in London and found this to be tops!

Location was perfect, and the place itself was top notch.
Looking forward to a return visit in the future.

We had an amazing time! The flat was awesome. We could not get over the amazing location. It was so convenient and close to so many things to see. My family was amazed at where we were staying! Thanks for all your help!

All was incredible! Suffice it to say, London Connection was pivotal in making this not only our best trip to London, but best international trip, period.

We love all about London, especially the people! Having your associates, each so professional, friendly and competent, ensuring that everything was just so, was a first for us. It was perfect.

The flat was an essential part of our experience. Its character, history and location are remarkable. Of course, it was clean, well-stocked and in great repair. We actually would just open the windows and relax with a drink, enjoying the character of the flat, its surroundings and all of the activity outside. It was all part of a brilliant journey.

We will certainly visit London again. And, we will also plan our visit in such a way as to ensure we can stay at St. Martin’s Lane. Already looking forward to it, as in planning. 🙂

Again, we are thankful to everyone at London Connection for helping to make our vacation one of the best.

We had a wonderful experience. Perfect location and set-up for our 3 teenage boys. My husband and I enjoyed theater, shopping, museums, dining — all right outside our front door. The teenagers kept busy with nearby Covent Garden, local pubs, Soho and Chinatown. Westminster was just 10 minutes away for “must see” sights such as Big Ben, London Eye, Trafalgar Square, Parliament, etc. The spacious flat had plenty of room, hot water, and other creature comforts. Highly recommend location, flat, and London Connection!

Our visit was excellent—active and interesting– and the apartment worked out extremely well for our family of six. It was very well located, spacious, efficient, and comfortable. The staff was also helpful, and I would single out Ricardo for his courtesy and attentiveness.

We had a wonderful time in London and the property was ideal. We appreciated very much the introduction to the property from your representative Ricardo, who was very helpful in helping us move in. The location is perfect for seeing all parts of London and it was very easy to walk outside for places to eat or drink and several good restaurants and pubs very close by. Also the proximity of Tescos is very helpful. The kitchen was well equipped though we did not cook much – the only thing missing is a cutting board so as to protect the work tops. I would highly recommend it to anyone especially good for the size of group we had – 3 couples + 2 small ones.

We really enjoyed it! It’s a great location and the apartment was perfectly appointed. The car service was also excellent- made the trip that much more seamless. We have already recommended your site to several people. Thanks for a great stay!

We loved our vacation! The flat (apartment in American speak) was wonderful. Clean, spacious, everything we could ask for! The only issue we had was that we did not realize our plugs/outlets were not the same. Completely understand why you do not have them in the apartment as I’m sure they would disappear, but perhaps adding a note to your website or booking would be helpful for the next American who does not realize it! That being said, the apartment managers were extremely helpful in pointing us in the right direction on where to buy them. (There actually was one in the flat which we made work for our needs)
If we ever go to London again, will be sure to rent from you! Telling our of our friends who may take future vacations about your business as well. Thank you so much!!

We just returned home after spending nine days at the flat. We were extremely pleased with the layout of
the rooms. Our family used the entire flat but the convenience of having two kitchens was very nice. We had all of the appliances that we have at home, including a washer/dryer, and all of the plates, flatware and cookware we needed. It was very clean and comfortable and the surrounding area has many restaurants, shops and entertainment. It was perfect for us and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

We loved the flat – it was perfect for our needs! We were two sets of parents and our adult children who live together. Everyone loved the configuration of the space for togetherness and for privacy. We went to the play, same day, at the Noel Coward Theater which was wonderful! We took public transportation everywhere. There is a gelato shop just around the corner that served great Gelato and a tiny noodle joint across from the tube station that was the “real deal”. We also went to a French restaurant called Brasserie Zedel that was close to walk to and was really fun.

We wanted to thank you for the opportunity to enjoy London and stay at your apartment. It was wonderful and we loved the apartment. It was just as the pictures show online, the location is excellent pace, as was the attention of your staff and airport transfers. We will definitely be coming back to stay at your property and we will recommend them to our friends as well.

To The Fabulous London Connection Team,

I simply must tell you what a wonderful time myself and three others had at the residence on St. Martin’s Lane and how grateful we are to all of you for making our stay in London so enjoyable.

You have exceeded all of our expectations and delighted us with your friendliness, knowledgeability, and willingness to go out of your way to make us feel comfortable.

We thank you all very much and hope to visit London again soon. And,of course, will be contacting London Connection when we intend to do so again.

The house was absolutely great, fantastic location of course, loved the living room/kitchen on the top floor…sadly we forgot about the sauna till the last morning! But we would definitely be happy to book it again, I’ve told quite a few friends about the two properties we’ve stayed in there, and recommended your company highly.
My best tip for any visitor would be to use the proximity of the theatres to your advantage – many of the top theatres sell ‘day tickets’ at a tiny fraction of the original price at 10am each morning from their box office (including the Noel Coward theatre directly opposite)
I love the theatres in London; as we could get the cheap tickets we went almost every night, overall our favourite was ‘The Commitments.”
